Hoover Field boasts some of the best instructors in the Midwest. The experience of this group is unmatched. They have over 160 years of combined coaching and teaching experience at the high school, college and professional levels. These coaches/instructors are professionals and offer everything from hitting to pitching to fielding development in both baseball and softball for ages 7 and up. Brittany Finney
Brittany Finney
Brittany Finney graduated from Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in 2015 as a 2-time state champion. After high school, Brittany spent 1 year at the University of Oklahoma where she won the 2016 Women’s College World Series. Brittany has been giving lessons for over 7 years in Wichita and Oxford MS. She has traveled around the country running camps for Scrap Yard and Softball Factory. Her goals are to make each player fundamentally sound by implementing new drills that reinforce good mechanics. Brittany uses a variety of tools during each lesson to allow the athletes to see and feel the proper mechanics.
Travis Downey
Baseball Instructor
Travis Downey is originally from Colorado Springs, CO where he started for Harrison HS all four years. In his senior year, he was second statewide in strikeouts as a pitcher and lead his team to the deepest run for a state title in school history. He then played at Friends University where he received All-Conference Honors his Junior and Senior years which landed him on the NAIA academic All-American team his Senior year. After playing at Friends University, Travis signed with the Johnstown Johnnies (PA) of the Frontier League. Playing for just a part of the season, Travis coached at his alma mater between 2013-2015. During that time, the Falcons would finish one win shy of the NAIA World Series. Travis currently does lessons with kids varying in age from 7 years old to college.
Paul Sanagorski
Baseball Instructor
Paul has over 35 years of baseball coaching experience, having coached at the professional level with the Florida Marlins and the Washington Nationals. Currently, Paul is the hitting coach for the Wichita Wingnuts professional baseball team. Sanagorski was inducted into the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009 and the Wichita Sport Hall of Fame in 2012.
Jennifer Toth
Softball Instructor
2003 Graduate and First Team Tri-Valley League short stop. Jennifer continued her education at Cowley County where she was a part of the 2004 National Placing Team. After Cowley Jennifer focused on her education achieving her Masters Degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology at Wichita State. Entering her 9th season of coaching, Jennifer is full of passion and creative ways to instruct, condition and prepare her athletes. From beginners mechanics to new pitches to winter workouts, she can provide instruction at all levels.
Luke Robertson
Baseball Instructor
In his ninth season as the Wingnuts pitching coach, Robertson is the longest tenured member of the Wichita staff. Under Robertson, Wichita’s staff has been third or better in the American Association in team ERA in five of the last seven seasons including first-place finishes in 2009 (3.52), 2010 (4.05), 2013 (3.38), and 2014 (3.60).
